2025 Elizabeth Kruckemyer Film Production Grants

The Elizabeth Kruckemyer Film Production Grants are offered by Love Your Shorts Film Festival in memory of the festival’s graphic designer and Facebook administrator.
Elizabeth, a professional graphic designer, was a longtime dedicated volunteer whose artwork graced festival posters and other materials, and her social media posts kept festival fans and filmmakers up to date.
Interested filmmakers are invited to apply for a grant in the making of a short film up to 30 minutes long in one of these categories:
- Animation
- Comedy
- Documentary
- Drama
- E for Everyone
- Florida Flavor
- Sci-Fi/Horror
- International
Love Your Shorts Grant Application
Applications must be received by December 16, 2024, to be considered. Recipients will be announced during our February festival, via email and Facebook.

Elizabeth Kruckemyer Film Production Grant
Mark Christmas – Orlando, FL
- Mark Christmas is a student at Valencia College, who says he strives “to put on screen the stories that speak to me.” He is currently working on a screenplay titled “Catching Eyes,” a chance encounter of a couple that may change their lives.
- “Film is one of the most accessible art forms — we all watch movies, after all — and, as such, a powerful medium to reach audiences directly, impactfully and on fundamental emotional levels.”
Juming Delmas – Tallahassee, FL
- Juming Delmas is the owner of a video production company. He is a graduate of Florida State University and says the diverse filmmakers on his team “offer different viewpoints to create compelling stories.”
- He is currently working on a film titled “The Ballerina’s Curse,” about a team of paranormal investigators trying to get to the bottom of unexplained activities at a ballet studio.

Parissa Pirouzan Glaser – Central Florida
- Parissa Pirouzan Glaser is an Iranian-born filmmaker who now lives in Central Florida. She is passionate about the representation of minorities of the Middle East, particularly non-religious individuals, LGBTQIA+ and strong women whose stories are rarely told through their own eyes. She aims to create thought-provoking films that portray those like herself who are often misrepresented or not represented in the Western media and productions.
- Parissa is working on her next film project “Away From Home.”
2022
Jake Shehee – Ringgold, GA
- Jake Shehee is an independent filmmaker and student at Kennesaw State University. He is on track to graduate in December with a bachelor’s of Communication in Media and Entertainment. He also is a student at the Georgia Film Academy.

Sofie Somoroff – Los Angeles, CA
- The name of her project is “Roadkill”. Megan is a former child star who finds herself at a crossroads as she faces her TV show’s cancellation while also struggling to take care of the dead cat outside her home.
Rakefet Abergel – Los Angeles, CA
- Genre: Horror
- The name of her project is “Eden”.
2020
Rakefet Abergel – Los Angeles, CA
- Genre: Horror
- The name of her project is “Boo”. An alcoholic has been trying to quit drinking.
- Rakefet received the best actress award during the 2019 festival for her performance in the film “Jax in Love”.
Yasmin Mistry – New York, NY
- Genre: Documentary
- The name of her project is “Beautiful Raw.”
- Foster care is the subject.
- Yasmin also had a film showing in the 2019 festival: “For a Better Life.”
Lena Drake – New York, NY
- Genre: Drama
- The name of her project is “The Tutor.”
- The subjects is how a tutor affects the dynamics of a family.
2019
Brian Carlson – Orlando, FL
- Carlson is making a documentary titled “Lawnmower.”
- His documentary “Mr. Gold,” about a street-corner promoter for an Orlando gold dealer, was an official selection in the 2015 Love Your Shorts Film Festival.
Erin Sanger – New York, NY
- She is working on a drama titled “Mutt.”
Giancarlo Fusi – Los Angeles, CA
- He is working on a sci-fi/horror titled “Violette Hayes.”
